At Green Minds Youth Initiative (GMYI), we believe that environmental education should go beyond the classroom. Young people need opportunities to speak, question, research, listen, and lead. Our environmental debate programme creates a platform where learners can explore real environmental challenges and use their voices to inspire positive action in their schools and communities.
Green Minds Youth initiative brings learners from different schools together for inter-school debates and environmental learning activities. These engagements create opportunities for peer learning, healthy competition, collaboration, and exchange of ideas among young people.
Our debate activities have involved learners from schools including Tiwi, St. Michael’s Academy, Mwaligulu, Madibwani primary,Denyenye primary, Mbweka primary among others. Through these engagements, learners have had the opportunity to discuss environmental issues affecting their communities while building relationships with peers who share a common interest in creating a better environment.
