Promoting Sustainable Aquaculture in Kwale County
Our Snail Farming program focuses on establishing sustainable snail farming practices in Kwale County. This initiative aims to provide a new source of income while promoting environmental stewardship and food security.
This initiative empowers local youth and smallholder farmers in Kwale County through sustainable, low-cost heliciculture. By introducing modern cage farming techniques, training on snail nutrition, and establishing local distribution networks, this project creates direct income-generating opportunities for vulnerable households.
In addition to economic empowerment, snail farming promotes local environmental stewardship by using organic waste for feed, preserving soil quality, and diversifying agricultural income streams beyond climate-vulnerable traditional livestock.
